The Estate has a total area of 145 hectares, of which 21 hectares are allocated to communal gardens.  These gardens are the pride of our Estate, which is maintained by the Estate and have won several SALI awards.  Residents live across the 1 042 larger residential stands, which are spread out with little cluster suburbs within the Estate, and named after the varietal of birdlife we enjoy.

In terms of facilities, we offer a host of activities for our residents.  These start with the squash and tennis courts, and outdoor gym situated at the clubhouse, along with the restaurant, Jessica’s, which is known to offer a hearty meal for the weariest of patron.

For our younger generation we have included a skateboard park and cricket net, along with soccer and netball practice areas.  While on the extra-mural front there are activities like pilates and dancing classes hosted in the Estate, to name a few.

Our expansive Lapa, which can accommodate up to 80 seated guests has proven perfect for that special birthday party, weddings or kiddies movie night – while the modern and safe play area next door has kept many a toddler busy while mom and dad enjoy a tasty meal at Jessica’s. 

The Estate is also known for its enthralling walking trails along the manicured lawns, where walkers stroll past many a stream and lake, with a waterfall or two thrown in for good measure.  We also host the most amazing night races or walks through the Estate, which attract walkers of all types.  And did we mention the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Gardens, along the mountain ridge which our residents are lucky enough to have free access to, via a private entrance?

In terms of amenities nearby, Featherbrookers have access to many scenic wedding venues nearby, along with a host of malls (like Cradlestone and Clearwater), hospitals (like Netcare Pinehaven), and a casino (Silverstar).  Step a little further away and you can visit the world-famous Cradle of Human Kind, Sterkfontein Caves, and the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve.

If Golf is your pleasure, the Ruimsig Golf Club is a stone’s throw away, while various day spas will ensure that the ladies are always pampered.  For the more adventurous there’s a scuba diving academy, bungee jumping, bridge swinging, hot-air balloon rides, and helicopter tours available in the area.

Don’t forget the N14/R28 highway just around the corner, making for easy access to Pretoria and Randfontein, with the N1 nearby to get to Bloemfontein and Durban.

We like to think of our beloved Estate as a place of peace and a botanical sanctuary to come home to.  We are a fiercely proud society, and do our best to ensure a safe and secure way of life.  Our reputation in the Gauteng area is sterling, and the general interest from outsiders in our slice of heaven simply attests to this.  We also strive to continually improve our offering to residents, with many projects always on the cards to make our Estate the best in the land.
